Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 2026
This notice explains how Herspective ("we") collects and uses personal data when you apply to and take part in the InvestHER programme. Herspective is the data controller for this processing.
1. What data we collect
- Identity and contact details: first name, last name, email address.
- Profile data: country, city, university, degree, graduation year, LinkedIn profile, short bio, interests.
- Application answers: employment status, investing experience and knowledge level, motivation, goals, topics of interest, and how you heard about the programme.
- Consents: your acceptance of the programme terms, this privacy notice, the participation commitment, and your newsletter preference, each with a timestamp.
- Participation data: enrolment status, lesson progress, community posts, and attendance-related notes.
2. Why we collect it
- To review your application and select participants for each cohort.
- To administer the programme: access to the workspace, schedules, materials, and recordings.
- To communicate with you about your application and participation.
- To report anonymised, aggregated impact figures to our partners (never your individual answers).
- To send newsletters and updates, only if you opted in.
3. Legal basis
We process your application and participation data on the basis of your consent, and our legitimate interest in running and improving our non-profit educational programmes. Newsletter communication is based solely on your separate, optional consent.
4. Who processes your data
We use trusted service providers acting on our instructions: our hosting and database provider (application and account data), our email provider (programme and newsletter emails), and video conferencing tools for live sessions. Programme partners receive only aggregated, anonymised information unless you explicitly agree otherwise. We never sell your personal data.
5. Retention
Application data is kept for the duration of the programme and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we can evaluate cohorts and consider you for future programmes. Account and profile data is kept while your Herspective account is active. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
6. Your GDPR rights
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Request portability of the data you provided.
- Withdraw consent at any time, including newsletter consent, without affecting past lawful processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
7. Requesting deletion
To delete your application or account data, email us with the subject "Data deletion request". We will action verified requests within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
